California Dressage Society Santa Cruz Chapter

With a membership of about 95 members, the CDS-Santa Cruz Chapter has grown significantly from
the 16 core members who formed it in 1982. Currently we host a AHSA/CDS/USDF Coastal Classic
Dressage Show featuring dressage freestyles and quadrilles each Summer and meet for social events and
educational clinics semi-monthly throughout the year.

Bulletin: CDS Santa Cruz is hosting a USDF Instructor Certification Program!
All sessions will be held at Vigne Farms in Santa Cruz - Click here for directions
Auditors are encouraged to take advantage of this great educational opportunity, cost is
$25/day for Non-CDS-SC members.

The dates are:
April 18, 19th - two day Riding Workshop with Rachel Saavedra (Report)
May 16, 17, 18- three-day Teaching Workshop with Rachel Saavedra
July 2nd, 3rd- two-day Lungeing Workshop with Rachel Saavedra (This is mid-week)
August 29th, 30th, 31st - three-day Pre-certification Clinic with Lilo Fore
November 14th, 15th, 16th tentative USDF testing

Sporthorse Production Factory Tour will be back Summer 2003!!  (Date TBA after babies' dues dates are calculated!) This was the Chapter party to attend last year with adorable babies available for scratching and the yearlings and 2 year olds vying for attention. Come visit Helen Dilworth's Trilogy Farm breeding program and understand the sporthorse production system! How to evaluate youngsters, how and when breeders choose their crosses, what type of horse is appropriate for which rider (baby, just backed, well-started, or mileaged).
